12th International university prize for a student travel journal

The contest is open to anyone enrolled in a higher education institution in France or abroad, regardless of nationality and with no age limit, except those registered as “auditeur libre” (non-degree auditors).

These conditions must be met on the date the travel journal is received by the Service Université Culture (postmark serving as proof).

The participants must create a travel journal presenting the story of a real travel experience, combining text and images in the form of illustrations (all techniques are allowed: watercolor, gouache, pencil, etc.), giving free rein to the author’s sense of observation and creativity.
Photo collages are also permitted, but must remain very limited compared to other visual media. The journal may stem from a personal trip, an academic exchange abroad, a study trip, or fieldwork.

The travel journal must be created on an original physical medium, in the language or languages chosen by the author.
Travel journals must be produced in paper format; digital formats will not be accepted.

Collaborative travel journals—such as those combining the perspectives of French and international students—are also accepted.

Examples of student travel journal

The winner of the Student Travel Diary Prize will receive a prize of €500 and will be invited to the prize-giving ceremony at the next 'Rendez-vous International du Carnet de Voyage' on 13 November 2026.

A ‘Coup de Coeur’ prize may be awarded by the University's International Relations and Francophonie Department. The prize is €300.

The submission must be postmarked no later than October 15.

For collaborative travel journal, photocopies of the student cards of all group members must be included. Only one student fills out the online registration form, and this person will receive the prize on behalf of the group.

A participant may submit multiple travel journals. A travel journal submitted in a previous edition cannot be submitted again.
